Boxes EVERYWHERE!!! Loading day is tomorrow, and I'm ready. The painter showed up today and did his thing, so close appears to be on schedule.

Tomorrow night, I'm in a Nashville hotel. Thursday night, an Indiana hotel. Friday night, the Mom-Dad hotel. I will log 10 hours in a car in just over 24 hours. Then, Monday at 2 am, I head back to Columbus!!!! YAAY'ers!

I'm going to talk to my boss about working remotely from Knoxville for a week or so. Otherwise, I think I may burn a week of vacation.

Two more days working in Nashvegas... I am ready to move on.

My family will be transient from 3/29 or 30 until the end of April. I won't be online until I get moved in and get a new ISP.

We are invading!

We will be in K-town by evening. We expect to fully take over by bedtime, with our forces occupying at least 3 rooms. Resistance is futile, you shall be assimilated.

I have heard rumors of the L&DC forces invading, however we outnumber them 2 to 1. This should be an easy victory.

Uh, Oh. The wildcard... the D&CM forces are in the area... they could overwhelm us all!

Well, this has gone incredibly smoothly.

Thanks to whomever prayed for us. We have a contract on our house, and a contract on our house to be... we are going through all the closing items with both houses now.

We'll be vacating on 3/30, and moving in on 4/29. In between, we'll be squatting wherever we find a place. Actually, I'll be in a hotel in Indiana, and my family will be in Chatt or K-town. I hope my Mom is willing to cat-sit for a month. Historical precident says she will watch 2 cats for 2 years, so she should be okay watching 3 for 1 month.

In 2 months, we will be happily settled in (right?).

We will have a heated pool, and a guest bedroom. Visitors are welcome... with advance notice, of course.

We made an offer on another house, but we wouldn't be able to move in until 4/14. Two homeless weeks for the kids and kitties (if they even accept). Hmmmm.....

With some advance notice, I can line up some interviews for you. With your experience (and a resume written to emphasize the right stuff), you could land a nice, fat job as a logistics manager for one of the plants. You could get your Masters on the company dime, and work your way up from there.

As I was putting Gabe to bed tonight, he looked up at me and said, "I'm going to miss you Daddy." I did a bit of a double take, and asked him what he just said. He repeated "I'm going to miss you Daddy." I asked him what he meant. He said, "When you go to work."

At least he didn't think I was dying.

Relocation Package

Admittedly, I have never been relocated by a company before. Still, I can't believe that my package is standard for this type of activity. I am being given a month's salary to pay for incidentals, plus the company is paying for closing costs on my sale, closing costs on my purchase, movers to pack and move my goods, storage for up to 30 days, 7 days worth of house hunting trips for my family and I, and 2 return trips after I move.

It does make this easier to deal with. I'm a basket case now, and I can't imagine how crazy I'd be otherwise.

Gabriel wants Amy to come back

When we told him that wasn't possible, he said "okay, let's go to nini's house." Well, that one's not possible either. "Okay."

I own a 2 bedroom house?

I found out today that I must list my home as a 2 bedroom house due to Abby's room not having a closet. That hurts our resale. I own a 1995 square foot, 2 bedroom house. I hope I get enough out of it to get the house Carmen wants (209,900), but I SERIOUSLY doubt we will now.

Help me house hunt

We are looking in Columbus Indiana. We'd like to be in a neighborhood, not a farmhouse. We are looking between 150,000 and 225,000 (and won't know exactly where in that range until our house sells).

I'm working from home today! I have a realtor coming at 12 and another at 3. I get to choose which one I like better. I have a conference call at 9 and another at 10:15, so it's a good thing G-Diddy has school today.

Speaking of Gabe, he is so excited that Amy is coming to play with him this weekend. Carmom is thinking that Chuck E Cheese or Bounce House would be fun for all three kids.

Since I post really dumb stuff a lot, I'm thinking of getting Carmom to sign on and start this as a joint blog... I'd change the name to the CarMatt's. What do you guys think? It would probably improve the content maturity level.
